ABOUT THE WINES OF Argentina

During the Spanish colonization of the Americas in 1557, Juan Cedrón brought the first vine cuttings to Santiago del Estero, starting a centuries-long tradition. Today, many different varieties of grapes are cultivated in Argentina, reflecting the country’s many immigrant groups, including French, Italian, and of course, Spanish. The most important wine regions of Argentina are located in the provinces of Mendoza, San Juan and La Rioja.
