The United States has been producing wine even longer than it's been a country. While California, Washington State and Oregon are the most acclaimed winemaking states, wine is produced in all regions of the country. For years, the U.S.'s "New World"� wines were looked down on by "Old World"� European winemakers, but today, thanks to a melting pot of European grape varietals, education and technology, they have become some of the most acclaimed.
