Marlborough Reserve

Marlborough Estate Reserve - Marlborough New Zealand

“A terrific example of classic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc loaded with aromas of ripe grapefruit, gooseberry and zingy passionfruit. Luscious and gently textured with flavours of attractive snowpea, capsicum and blackcurrant, with hints of lime and a slight mineral note. Grapes for this wine were carefully harvested when they reached their optimum ripeness. They were pressed off their skins quickly with minimum contact so as to preserve fresh flavours.” - Raymond Chan, Raymond Chan Wine Reviews

Marlborough Estate Reserve Sauvignon Blanc

BS-2013DESCRIPTION: Luscious and gently textured - 4 Star: Raymond Chan, Raymond Chan Wine Reviews 2013. SILVER MEDAL: International Aromatic Wine Competition 2013

GRAPE VARIETY: 100% Sauvignon Blanc

FOOD PAIRINGS: Marlborough mussels or seafood risotto would be a perfect match with the Marlborough Reserve Sauvignon Blanc. At its best over the next two years but it will be hard to resist drinking this delicious drop immediately.

TASTING NOTES:“Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, very pale on rim. The bouquet is fresh, tightly concentrated and penetrating with an amalgam of pungent passionfruit and gooseberry aromas, lifted with subtle tropical fruit elements. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, tight and intense flavours of passionfruit are entwined with layers of herbs and minerals. The mouthfeel is rounded with fine textures and soft acidity, but showing good depth and density of fruit weight. The flavours are rich and pungent, revealing a lusciousness and juiciness, balanced and enlivened by lacy acidity on the finish. This is an intensely rich, lush and pungent Sauvignon Blanc with a soft mouthfeel and lacy acidity. Serve with vegetables and salads, and with Mediterranean fare over the next 2 years.” Raymond Chan, Raymond Chan Wine Reviews, Sept 2013
