MIGUEL A. TORRES HONOURED FOR HIS PROFESSIONAL CAREER

Miguel A. Torres collected the Lifetime Achievement Award, granted by the International Wine Challenge, at the Gala held in London on 7th September.

The Jury of the International Wine Challenge, one of the most prestigious international wine competitions in the world, chose to highlight the contribution made by Miguel A. Torres to the modernisation of the world of wine, particularly in Chile, where the Torres family founded a winery in the seventies. They also noted Torres’ firm commitment to the environment and the fight against climate change.

Miguel A. Torres, 4th generation of Torres Family, stressed the value that an acknowledgement of this kind has for a family company that wishes to remain independent. The current President of the Torres Group also mentioned the tremendous effort required to compete in the making of quality wines, and the immense satisfaction that he feels knowing that people from all over the world appreciate the wines made by Torres.

This prestigious prize, awarded by International Wine Challenge, is another in a long list of tributes and acknowledgements received during his long professional career, including the Livets Goda Hall of Fame (Sweden) or the Meininger Verlag (Germany) also received in the present year, 2010.
