Tedeschi Winery - Verona

In the News...

Sabrina Tedeschi is the new President of The Amarone Families Association.

Read about it here...

Nicolò Tedeschi founded the company that bears his name in the Valpolicella area in 1824. He was a genuine personality of his time, renowned for his skill and moral stature. Throughout the years, his family has continued the traditional wine-making process, and today, the winery is owned by the fifth generation of Tedeschis: Antonietta, Sabrina and Riccardo. Each has various responsibilities, but it is Riccardo, the oenologist, who deals with production and acts as Tedeschi’s Export Director.

Tedeschi Maternigo Valpolicella DOC Superiore

Tedeschi Maternigo Valpolicella DOC Superiore

DESCRIPTION: Our mapping of the soils in the large Maternigo property has enabled us to identify certain plots of land that, due to the characteristics of their terrain, their exposures and the results given by the vines, have revealed themselves to be real crus. One of these is the Impervio vineyard, so called because of its steep slope. Farmed according to organic principles like all the other vineyards at Maternigo, Impervio is characterized by the presence of white and yellow marls, particularly suitable for producing a Valpolicella with a very fresh, well-balanced style.

GRAPE VARIETY: 40% Corvina, 30% Corvinone, 30% Rondinella.

FOOD PAIRINGS: Red meats – game – dry-textured, mature cheeses made with low-fat milk.

TASTING NOTES: Rich, fresh and well-balanced fruit. The concentration of the dry extract is notable and admirably set off by considerable tannic structure, very lively acidity and a level of alcohol that ensure good ageing potential. The retro-olfactory sensations echo those on the nose. This is a long, fresh, concentrated and very elegant wine. Ageing potential: it has a long future ahead of it.

Tedeschi Corasco IGT Delle Venezie

Immagini 082

Tedeschi Corasco IGT Delle Venezie

Tedeschi Corasco IGT Delle Venezie

DESCRIPTION: This wine is made from grapes selected form the Venetian territories: Corvina variety grown on the Moraine hills in the heart of Valpolicella, Raboso variety grown in Oderzo (Treviso), and Refosco variety grown in Aquileia. This wine is made in a traditional Veronese manner: raisin-drying of the grapes. The effect is partial dehydration: The grapes, placed in crates for about one month, lose about 8-10 % of their weight. This water loss naturally enriches the sugar contents of the grapes, their dry extract, and the colour of the wine. Pre-fermentation aromas are formed during drying. these subsequently blend with fermentation aromas and, above all, with tertiary aromas coming from aging the wine in wooden barrels.

GRAPE VARIETY: 75% Corvina, 20% Refosco, 5% Raboso

FOOD PAIRINGS: A very versatile wine, can be enjoyed throughout the meal, perfect from pasta to cheeses.

TASTING NOTES: Color: strong ruby red, with high intensity. Clear and transparent. Bouquet: intense and elegant: ripe fruit aroma (currants, black cherries) with the vanilla and tobacco of Slavonian oak. Flavor: good body, good structure, lively acidity and alcohol content well balanced with tannins. The after taste confirms the notes in the bouquet. A complex and elegant wine.

2010 CORASCO IGT DELLE VENEZIE
Gregory Dal Piaz - Snooth.com - 90 Points

Appassimento breve. Corvina 75% raboso 5, refosco 20. Lots of tobacco and carob on the nose with plenty of spice notes, green leaf, and green peppercorn. This is very fruity on entry, with lots of strawberry and fine almost blue fruits in an elegant style. The midplate reveals a little plumpness with tons of pure, crushed wild berry fruit, and clean, firm mineral driven flavors through the finish. This has crazy intensity to the violet aromas on the nose and in the mouth where they lend a blue cast to the fruit. tannins turna touch dusty in the mouth, but this remains fascinating and fairly intense.

The Wine Advocate - 90 Points

The 2011 Valpolicella Classico Superiore La Fabriseria is a single-vineyard expression that exhibits the super-bold house style that distinguishes most of Tedeschi's wines. This Valpolicella is especially interesting because, unlike other wines of the appellation, it is made with late harvest fruit picked some 500 meters above sea level where night temperatures drop considerably. It shows both sweetness and fresh acidity, all wrapped tightly together. The blend is 35% Corvina, 30% Corvinone, 5% Rondinella and the rest is Oseleta. The Tedeschi family produces wines that are always unique and distinguished.
